I'm going to host a practice session in like ten minutes if anyone wants to get on and run a few laps before the race.

is there any penalty for accidentally going over? Like a 1:43.9? im only asking due to issues in drag racing on forza. I could run a 1;44.3 all day long by myself but the hop online and somehow the timing is way off because I'm running faster. Happen last week when I was tuning for the the trans am race. I picked up 2 seconds on the initial lap going online

Me too. During some practice runs before the race, my fastest lap was a 2:24.7. I cut more than 2 seconds off of that during the race.

Really excited for this one. Hopefully I can find a way to keep the BMW on 4 wheels.

I mean, as long as you're within like .5 seconds I guess it's fine, I don't have any penalties in mind, maybe docking points post-race or something but we most likely won't have to do that. I just don't want there to be a like two minute gap like there was last race so get as close as you can.

Same, I was so bummed I missed the last race. And that's really going to be the key for these races, keeping the car upright. Stiffen that suspension man, you should be fine.

Stiffer sway bars help quite a lot too.

Isn't the B450 not the Trans-Am? I though this was the other one that I built the 510 for?

This is odd. The Cortina must be a fantastic car, because im down to a C420 and i still lapped a 1:43. Im gonna have a whole 160hp for this one.

If youre going to enforce a limit. Make it a limit. None of this plis or minus half a second nonsense. Plus or minus a tenth. If that. This is just a susgestion but i would say enforce a big penalty, ie, no points for that race if you go under 1:44. Call it your dial in time. You go 1:43.999, you have 'broken out' and are disqualified, and recieve no points, just like braket racing.
Again just a suggestion to keep the sandbaggers at bay.

Sway bars are your friend.

True, I'd still like a bit of leeway, like .2 seconds or something. I'd only dock like two points or something, nothing major, I feel like the spirit of competition would be enough to discourage people from building overpowered cars. Hopefully.

I haven't had a chance to tune but I need to drop 3.5 seconds off my Alfa's time and I have no clue how I'll low I'll have to drop it. I imagine a lot of us will be C-class in this race.

Yeah.... I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do at this point either. That's stock tire width and street compound, I'm going to have to start cutting back power now too.
edit: ran a 1:43.7 with a Senna qualifying at Monaco in '88 lap so I'm calling it done at 383. This is why I like leaving some wiggle room, I know I won't get anywhere near that in-race but even if I do it's not going to really help me all that much.

Just noticed your reply, sorry. I misspoke (typed?), this is the Two-Five Challenge race, your 510 is eligible. Sorry if that was confusing.

And for the record I was reliably lapping in the 1:44.3 range before that, I just was a half-second faster that lap for reasons I don't completely understand.

I'm a bit worried cause my PI is really high. Last night I was working on it, after 30 laps, and with a PI of 560 something, I broke 1:44 once or twice and left it at that. I just went and broke it again after like 6 laps and tightening up the diff and rear anti roll bar, so I took like 17 hp out but it still seems really high, like 552 or something. Admittedly, I don't play this game much and I'm not very good, but I'd like some input. Is anyone doing testing soon? I've got some homework to do, but I'll probably be able to get on within the next hour and half.
Pro-Touring El Camino missile-thing for your time.

If you get on like a few hours before the race tomorrow we can run a practice session, I work late (just got home, actually) so that's why I haven't been on at a decent hour to set one up. PI really shouldn't matter so long as your time is reasonable, like I said anything between 1:44 and 1:45 should be a competitive time provided everyone else follows the rules.

Any possibility of givimg me until 4:20 to get home again?

Can do, no problem.

I'd like to be in on the practice session.

What's the benchmark lap time?

Count me in. I'm starting to get my get my gearing dialed in (maybe too much) and the little Jägerbomb is just flying.

I'm on board for that.

Fair enough man, we'll get you for the next race.

Sorry I didn't get on to make one, my brother was on and wouldn't let me play until 3:30 so yeah.

And sorry to reply so late, my Internet crapped the bed again.

No worries, could I get an invite back to the group? I had to make a slight mod.

FWIW you're still in second by a decent margin...
![]() 01/11/2015 at 03:16 |

Hey man, since you were like seven seconds faster than the target time I subtracted 4pts from your total this week. It's my fault that I didn't reply to you early enough for you to build a car but I did re-post the info sheet containing the target time four times this week, so next time just search 'Fourza' and it'll come up with everything you need.

Another FWIW but Corey felt really fucking bad about wrecking you dude, it was a stupid move by him and he knew it.

Actually it was a misunderstanding on my part. I didn't know Rumbles was planning on spectating until after the race, and I had assumed that his Alfa was A560 to compensate for a lap time. I had the car at about A500 and personally couldn't hit 1:46 still, so I just slapped on some extras 10 minutes before the race without knowing how much it'd decrease my lap time. And I accidentally overdid it.
Sorry about that.

And it was childish of me to leave everything like that and clean out my friends list. But I am going to take a break for a bit. Ill likely turn up again when and if you do a LeMans Tribute again. Depends on what cars too.
![]() 01/12/2015 at 04:18 |

Dude... but it won't be the same without you, you're like my right-hand man in all this shit. Hell, you started this whole 'online Fourza races' with the GT car series. We're definitely doing another Le Mans race but that'll be six months and 24 races from now. There's always a spot for you on the grid if you change your mind before that.
![]() 01/12/2015 at 18:57 |
|
Nah, it's fine, just don't do it again. Le Mans is a tricky track so I'd start tuning and practicing as soon as you can to minimize the amount of upgrades you have to add. The top dudes like RoboRed and Corey start practicing like a week before the race and it really shows.

Woops, just realized this week is Laguna Seca. But yeah, I'd spend about an hour or so just getting used to the track and trying out new lines and stuff, and when tuning your car base your BoP adjustments off time only, not anyone else's PI. Laguna Seca's a short track so you really shouldn't need all that much so be sure not to overdo it.
